David Moyes
Hi there!
Hi! I'm David Moyes, in my late 50s, and been a Christian for all my adult life. I am married to Leisl and we have two adult married daughters.
Together, Leisl and I have served in ministry in four churches in four states. Each ministry had its joys and challenges, and yet each one experienced growth. At each church we finished well (even being invited back to speak at each one).
After 37 years of full-time local church ministry, we believe God is calling me to a new season of serving churches needing short term assistance (3, 6, or 12-months). In 2025 we are serving at Lower Clarence Baptist (NSW) where God is certainly at work bringing new life to this church.
We have a calling, plenty of energy, and enthusiasm to assist local churches during seasons of transition.
This page gives a snapshot of who I am and areas where I could possibly assist.
If you would like a pdf copy of my resume outlining my statement of beliefs, the churches that I've pastored, and other experiences and training, please press here. You are also welcome to call me. My contact details are below
Blessings.

Areas Where David Can Assist
Churches that are “in-between” pastors are in fact at a critical point. Some churches find pastors to fill the gap, some use volunteers within their church, while others employ the services of either an interim or intentional interim pastor. With 37-years of pastoral leadership, David offers vast experience for churches that desire more than just maintaining the status quo. Through seeking God, reliance on His Holy Spirit, and working with the church leadership, David brings intentionality to this critical period. Below are some areas that David can offer your church.

Preaching
David enjoys preaching and is available to preach on a regular basis.
David’s recent trip to Turkey and Greece visiting the many areas where Early Churches were first established gave him greater insights and fresh perspectives on New Testament Christianity. David can take your church on a teaching journey on Sundays at Services and through the week in Small Groups exploring issues, themes and lessons from the Book of Acts, the New Testament Letters, and the Seven Churches of Revelation.

Leadership
David is a consultative leader who likes to equip staff and volunteers in areas of small group leadership, church management, seeking God’s vision, and how to disciple. He has had experience leading staff teams such as in Canberra he led a team of six full time pastors plus those employed in administration.

Consultancy
Trained by John Mark Ministries, David has consulted with several Baptists/Churches of Christ. Guided by objectives set by the Church Leadership, David uses various exercises, surveys and group work towards achievable outcomes.

Courses
Leisl and David facilitate two courses:
1) The Marriage Course - Seven weeks course designed to enrich marriages. Based on video input from those who are a part of the Alpha Team, couples are encouraged to share with each other (and not to the wider group) with questions from The Marriage Course Book;
2) Spiritual Retreat - a weekend away with guided yet personal time with God. A great way for people who desire to reconnect with God, seek His Will, or grow deeper in Him.

New Life Campaign
Some “in-between churches” could benefit from an intentional campaign that, with the help of God, may inject new life for people and the church. For both David and the church, this would be a “step out of the boat” experience as the church in faith, prayer and boldness reaches friends and the community. Such experiences relies on God’s mighty power as together we trust Him to do His Will. The campaign’s timeframe of 3 to 6-months is determined by the church. Below is an example of a possible campaign:
