When I'm Overwhelmed

Welcome To Van Life Devotions. There are seasons when life feels like a storm you can’t escape. The waves of responsibilities, worries, and unexpected troubles seem to rise higher than you can handle. Your strength runs thin, your mind feels cluttered, and your prayers seem ineffective.

In the Bible, David knew this feeling well. He says, “Lead me to the rock that is higher than I" (Psalm 61:2 NIV). He recognised that there’s safety, stability, and peace only when we lift our eyes from the chaos and on the unshakable God above it.

When we’re overwhelmed, the temptation is to try harder and carry more. But God calls us to come closer and carry less — to rest our burdens in His hands. The Rock, who is Jesus, is strong enough to carry the weight of your worries, wise enough to guide your next step, and loving enough to never let you go. The waves may still crash, but you’ll stand firm because you’re standing with Him.

When you feel overwhelmed, come closer to God and carry less.
