Hope In 60 Seconds - When I Feel Anxious

Anxiety doesn’t just live in our minds—it affects our bodies, our emotions, and even our relationships. It can rob us of sleep, steal our joy, and make the future feel like a storm we can’t escape. That’s why the Bible says, “Anxiety weighs down the heart...” (Proverbs 12:25 NIV) - because anxiety is heavy.

But this same verse in the Bible also gives hope: “…but a kind word cheers it up” (Proverbs 12:25 NIV). A kind word, a reminder of truth, can lift that weight. The Bible is full of these kind words such as “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7 NIV). God doesn’t tell us to ignore our anxiety or pretend it doesn’t exist. Instead, He invites us to bring it to Him. The same God who holds the universe together promises to hold you together to.

When anxiety rises, pause and breathe this truth in: God is with me. God is for me. God cares for me.
