Hope in 60 Seconds - When I'm Waiting

Welcome to Van Life Devotions. Today is Father’s Day. For those who long to be parents and aren’t yet, hearing news that another friend is expecting a baby or days like today can stir deep emotions—hope, longing, and sometimes pain. The Bible refers to “this hope as an anchor for the soul” (Hebrews 6:19 NIV), something that keeps us steady when life feels uncertain.
In the Bible, we are told of Abraham and Sarah’s hope for a child even when the promise seemed impossible. Zechariah and Elizabeth prayed for a child even when the years kept passing. They remind us that God sees the longings of your hearts and works in ways far greater than you can imagine.
While you wait, remember that hope is not wishful thinking—it’s trust in God’s character. He is good. He is faithful. He can carry both your longing and your heart through the waiting season.
Prayer:
“Lord, You see the deep longing of our hearts. In this waiting, help us to trust Your timing and Your goodness. Fill us with peace, renew our strength, and remind us that You are writing our story with love. Amen.”
